16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence:
Waniskahtan Exhibition
Join Amnesty International Canada and the Legacy of Hope for the “Waniskahtan Exhibition”, a powerful showcase taking place during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
The Waniskahtan Exhibition, meaning "to awaken" in Cree, was created by the Legacy of Hope Foundation to educate and raise awareness about the high rates of missing and murdered Indigenous women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Peoples (MMIWG2S)+. The project honors the lives lost, survivors, and aims to prevent and end the crisis of MMIWG2S+ by raising public awareness about this critical issue.
We encourage you to attend the Waniskahtan Exhibition during the 16 Days, engage with the stories and perspectives shared in this unique collection and express your solidarity through shared action. Together, we can raise awareness, advocate for justice and envision and support a world free from violence for Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals!
