JOIN A LOCAL AMNESTY GROUP

Our community groups are a big part of what makes Amnesty an effective grassroots organization. Joining a community group is an excellent way to meet and connect with other like-minded activists in your community and take action together.

There are more than 75 community groups and specialized teams across Canada, always looking for new members to help with letter writing, hosting events, gathering petition signatures, public speaking, taking part in vigils and protests, and more.

Through the Urgent Action Network, Amnesty International mobilizes a dedicated group of letter-writers to take action quickly when an individual is in immediate danger of a human rights violation. The Network has become one of Amnesty’s most effective campaign tools, having successfully protected people from torture, wrongful imprisonment, and abuse in prison over the years. When you sign up to be a member of the Urgent Action Network, you’ll receive email notifications when an urgent action is released.

Discover the latest Urgent Actions and make a difference by joining the Urgent Action Network. By signing up, you'll receive monthly prompts to take meaningful action on behalf of individuals and communities facing imminent threats.
