GET READY for 4 days of some of the best human rights documentaries and feature films shown around the world. 2008 marks the third year of the highly anticipated REEL AWARENESS Film Festival – the Amnesty International Toronto Human Rights Film Festival.
REEL AWARENESS brings together inspiration and information in a collection of must-see films. From November 13th to the 16th, join Amnesty International in protecting and promoting human rights!
Worldwide, talented filmmakers brave threats and danger to capture moving stories about human rights abuse, resistance and struggle. Their films have the power to take us away from our own lives and examine the complexity of the human condition. These are stories that simply have to be told – these are the stories told at REEL AWARENESS.
This year, the festival program features many compelling films, guest speakers, panel discussions and much more. Plus, people will have the opportunity to take action on a variety of important human rights issues facing our world today.
Update - 08 November 2008: A guest speaker has been announced for The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo and production information has been updated on Iraq's Lost Generation, Under An Open Sky and Stolen Sisters.
Update - 05 November 2008: Special guest speakers have been announced for Iraq's Lost Generation and Stolen Sisters, and an additional speaker has been added to Shadow of the Holy Book. Additionally, the festival line-up's countries of production have been updated.
