One year ago, millions of people took to the streets in the Middle East and North Africa, calling for change. A year after the revolutions began, the demand to end political repression, respect for human rights, dignity and genuine democratic reforms continue. Mohamed Lotfy, Amnesty International’s Researcher in the Middle East and North Africa will discuss these events and reflect on what it means both for the region and the world. Alex Neve, Secretary General of Amnesty International in Canada will open the lecture.
